The Flatshare Book Review

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary book review.

How to get over jet lag? A good book! This book was good enough to help keep me awake when I was exhausted, but trying to power through and adjust to the England time zone on nights one and two of my trip last month. It also was there for me on night three (and made it totally enjoyable) when my body evidently decided not to be tired and didn’t want to sleep.

The Flatshare Beth O'Leary

This book has such a cute and unique plot- Leon needs to earn a little more money and since he only works nights, he figures someone else could live in his flat during the day. Tiffy has broken up with her boyfriend and needs somewhere to live, but can’t afford somewhere in London by herself. You see where this is going? Tiffy and Leon haven’t met, but start communicating through post it notes. These notes and the their possessions are the only way they really know each other, but that seems to be enough for them to start falling for one another.

This was a really enjoyable read and will likely be one of my 2019 favorites. It’s fun and sweet, but has substance. It deals with issues I haven’t seen covered much in fiction. I think the author struck a really great balance here. This is the O’Leary’s debut novel and I’m really looking forward to future books from her! Pick this one up for a great summer reads!

If this sounds like a book you’d like, you might also enjoy this one.
