Histories & Biographies…
I wish I had more biographical books about the Royal Family that I could personally recommend here, but there aren’t many that I’ve seen highly recommended. From what I’ve read and heard, a lot of the biographies on the younger generation feel very surface level and more of puff pieces.
Elizabeth the Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch by Sally Bedell Smith
I’ve been anxious to read this book for quite a while, but at 720 pages long, I also feel quite intimidated. I will probably end up listening to it on audiobook.

A Short History of England by Simon Jenkins
This one isn’t about the modern British Royal Family, but it gives good background information on England and therefore also about the Royal Family. I still have this on my TBR, but my husband loved it!

This one is way less to do with the Royal Family and more with the women behind the scenes. It’s been on my TBR forever and it comes so highly recommend so I had to include it!

I recently purchased this book and I’m excited to read it! Andrew Morton is most well known for his tell-all book about Diana (listed above), but has continued to write more biographies about the BRF.

This book is stunning! Chris Jackson is probably the most well known photographer for the BRF. He photographs major events, tours, etc., but also photographs more private and personal events.

The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, The Dresser and The Wardrobe by Angela Kelly
I did a happy dance when this book was announced and it has not disappointed! I would say it actually far exceeded my expectations and shares more details and anecdotes than I would have expected. Angela Kelly’s story is so fascinating! Full review here.

Together: Our Community Cookbook
So clearly this one is not about the Royal Family, but it’s a beautiful cookbook! Meghan’s first solo philanthropic venture as a member of the BRF was with the Hubb Community Kitchen and she writes the forward to their cookbook.
