    Beach Read by Emily Henry

Beach Read by Emily Henry Book Review. This is perfect summer read that will likely stand out as a favorite of the year. A great balance of romance, humor, and depth. Summary from the publisher… Augustus Everett is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. January Andrews writes bestselling romance. When she pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast. They’re polar opposites. In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they’re living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer’s block. Until, one hazy evening, one thing leads to another and they strike a deal designed to force…

You Were There Too by Colleen Oakley

You Were There Too by Colleen Oakley Book Review. Thank you so much to Berkley Publishing for this free review copy! Summary: Mia is happily married to Harrison, although they’re not without their struggles. However, Mia has always had a reoccurring dream of another man. She clearly sees his face, but doesn’t know who he is. Then one day she meets him, the man she’s been dreaming of for years. The most confusing part of it is that he’s been dreaming of her too. Review: I was immediately drawn to the description of this book. I had some pretty high hopes, which I’m glad to say were exceeded. However, I…

    Well Met by Jen DeLuca

Well Met by Jen DeLuca Book Review. This was a cute one! This hate to love rom-com is set against the local Renaissance Faire. Emily is in town to help out her sister, whose recovering from an accident. She gets roped into volunteering at the Faire in her place. What’s worse is having to deal with the know-it-all in charge, Simon, who she can’t stand. Well we know that won’t last… I found the romance in this one to be a bit sweeter than some of the others in similar genres. However, I also wish there was a bit more of it. There seemed to be a lot of time…

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill Review

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman. Nina Hill has her life all planned out… quite literally. If it’s not in her planner, it’s not happening. Her days consist of working at a bookstore, trivia nights with her friends and scheduled (and non-negotiable) reading time. I’m in agreement with Nina that these are all great things! Suddenly though, her perfectly planned life is shaken up by something very unplanned. The father she never knew has passed away and left her with something she never expected- a large extended family. This is introverted Nina’s worst nightmare! This is a really cute read with a storyline that I was drawn…

The Queen of Hearts Book Review

The Queen of Hearts by Kimmery Martin. This book follows two best friends, Zadie and Emma. It switches between their time in medical school and present day where they are married, mothers and successful doctors. We get to follow along as they are forced to relive the difficult time they both endured during their med school days. The “why” of their problems is left mostly unknown as the story unfolds. I read this book while in a bit of a reading slump and it was the perfect cure. Fast paced, interesting characters, intriguing plot… I was hooked! I love a good medical drama and this delivered. Personally don’t love being…

Next Year in Havana Book Review

Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton. This book received all the rave reviews last year! I’m always hesitant that a book with so much hype won’t live up to it, but this one definitely did. I appreciated that this book had such a great story that swept me along and made it hard to put down while also delving into the history of Cuba and the turmoil both past and present. This book has dual timelines taking place in 1958 and 2017. I often find that I am drawn more to the present day story in dual timelines books. I like to follow along in the process of discovery,…
