US vs. UK editions…
I read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder in March and loved it! When I noticed Good Girl, Bad Blood on the Blackwell’s website (free shipping to the US!!), I was so excited. I anxiously went to find the US pub date and was a bit confused when I couldn’t find anything about it. So here’s where it gets a bit odd…
I read the US edition of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and the story takes place in the US. I knew the author was British and was a bit surprised the story wasn’t set in England. Well… turns out it was and then they created a whole new US version. Maybe this is a more common thing and I’m just not aware of it?
Anyways… I didn’t put this together until I started Good Girl, Bad Blood and was so confused when all of a sudden the town had a different name, the currency was in pounds, and so on. It was a bit jarring to have read the US edition of book one and then the UK edition for book two without expecting it, but only for the first couple chapters!

All of that aside, I loved this book! I think I may have even enjoyed this one more. Although, maybe that was because I wasn’t reading it during the first week of a pandemic? The story and mystery felt more cohesive overall and you’re pulled in fewer directions. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away from AGGGTM- definitely read the books in order!
4.5 stars and a favorite so far for 2020! I am really hoping we get more Pip in the future. If you were a fan of Veronica Mars, then you will absolutely love Pip! Trigger warnings are at the very bottom of this page.
