Cover Crush: 84 Charing Cross Road

I have a major cover crush on this Sphere edition of 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. What’s great about this edition, beside the beautiful cover, is that it also includes the sequel, The Duchess of Bloomsbury. This is a British edition, but thanks to Book Depository it’s easy to track down!

I’m so excited to read this book before my upcoming trip to London. Books about books are some of my favorites and when they take place in England that’s even better! If you have any suggestions for other books to read before my trip, please let me know in the comments.

Summary from publisher:

84 Charing Cross Road

This charming classic love story, first published in 1970, brings together twenty years of correspondence between Helene Hanff, at the time, a freelance writer living in New York City, and a used-book dealer in London at 84, Charing Cross Road. Through the years, though never meeting and separated both geographically and culturally, they share a winsome, sentimental friendship based on their common love for books. Their relationship, captured so acutely in these letters, is one that has touched the hearts of thousands of readers around the world.

I replied to this on your Instagram account, but let me know if you travel outside of London, too, because there are sooo many British countryside ones I love. Also happy to chat bookstores and cafes in London ; ).

YES PLEASE!! I’m putting up a post this week asking for countryside suggestions, but please feel free to comment here or DM me! I will take ALL the bookstore and cafe suggestions. My husband and I were just trying to research cafes the other night, so you are speaking my language!
